Does Jesus Know You?

As Christians, we are called to examine if we are in the faith. Though you may know who Jesus is, an important question we should be asking ourselves is….DOES JESUS KNOW ME! The Bible states that the enemy knows God, but trembles in His presence (James 2:19). So knowing God is not enough, we are called to be different, we are called to be His disciples.

Do we know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit? (John 14:18-21, Colossians 1:10) Are we becoming more like Jesus? The plain and simple reality is that if we truly and honestly had an encounter with the Living God we should be changed. If on the day that we accepted God in our life we acted not with emotion but with a truly broken and contrite heart then the God of Heaven and Earth lives in us, and if He lives in us then we should be different. How can we call ourselves Christians but continue living as the world does? Ask yourself, how am I different than my non-saved friend (and going to church doesn’t count)? If you where to measure yourself up to the world, and then to the Word of God, which do you more closely resemble?does god

Jesus said that a tree (Christian) will be known by its fruit (Matt 7:16), He then goes on to say that a good tree can not produce bad fruit and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit (Matt 7:18). So the question is what’s your fruit? Jesus Christ himself made it very clear, He said Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven (Matt 7:19-22).

My dear brothers and sisters, what is it gonna take for us to realize that Christianity is more than just verbally accepting Christ in our life, it is more than a title, it should be our honor to be considered Christians. People should see that we are different in our fruit, our actions and they way that we live our life. The unfortunate reality is right now as we speak there are thousands upon thousands of so-called Christians that are headed to eternal destruction. Does this not concern you? Some of the people that we know and love, some of the people we see in church every Sunday will not inherit the Kingdom (1 Corinth 6:9-11).

I’m not sure about you, but for me, this scares me. We should be telling our friends and loved ones about this truth, we should not be hesitant to tell it how it is, remember Ezekiel? God warned Ezekiel that if he saw sin and did not warn them to repentance, then if they died in their sin their blood was on his hands (refer to article “Watchmen on the Wall”). We need to let people know regardless of how much someone may say they know Jesus, if their fruit shows otherwise, then the likeliness is that they probably don’t.

Are we bearing the fruit of the Spirit? (Galatians 5:22, Luke 13:6, Matthew 3:8, John 15:2, Ephesians 5:9) Or do we go to church on Sunday, but act like the rest of the world Monday-Saturday? (Romans 7:5, Matthew 21:19, Matthew 7:19, Matthew 3:10) When we die, will He say He knows us (Romans 7:4, John 15:5, John 15:8), or will He say “Get away from me, worker of iniquity, I never knew you”? (Matthew 7:21-23) The Bible says that Jesus will say this to people who professed Him as Lord.

Every day we need to make and honest effort to add to our faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, Godliness; and to Godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. These are qualities that will show in our fruit, and we can rest assure that when its our appointed time to leave this world and stand in front of the judgment seat of the Most High, that we will be welcomed with open arms.

Our time here on Earth is short, but our life after is eternal. Dont risk eternity with Christ for gratification of the flesh on Earth…… Be Different, Be Fruitful, Be Known by the one that counts!
